Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

  • Begin through lush rainforest. Watch for wildlife and waterfalls. Overnight at Miriakamba Hut

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
  • Elevation : 2,514m to 3,570m
  • Distance: 8 km
  • Time: Time: 3-5 hrs
  • Steeper ascent through montane forest and moorland. Explore Little Meru (3,820m) for acclimatization

Day 3: Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak to Miriakamba Hut
  • Elevation : 3,570m to 4,562m (summit) to 2,514m
  • Distance: 20 km
  • Time: 10-12 hrs
  • Early morning summit push via Rhino Point (3,800m). Descend to Miriakamba Hut after enjoying sunrise views

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate
  • Elevation : 2,514m to 1,500m
  • Distance: 10 km
  • Time: 2-4 hrs
  • Gentle descent through forest trails. Transfer back to Arusha
